MUASA National Budget Breakfast Meeting on 16th July, 2026

Makerere University Academic Staff Association (MUASA) is a group of the academic staff of Makerere University, Uganda’s flagship higher education institution. Numbering over 1500, majority of the members of MUASA have PhDs. They also have extensive research and years of experience in their various areas of specialization.

Pursuant to Article II (g) of its constitution, the Association leverages this expertise and partnership with relevant actors to contribute to development discourse and practice at the national, regional and international levels.

It is against this background that the Association will host a national budget breakfast meeting.

MUASA NATIONAL BUDGET BREAKFAST MEETING (MBBM)

The MBBM is an interactive engagement at which experts from the MUASA join participants from government, development partners, civil society, the private sector, and other policy research institutions to discuss the national budget.

The objective of the meeting is to promote appreciation and critique of the budget from a comparative perspective and, hopefully, contribute to efforts to enhance the budget’s performance, stakeholder participation, and the quality of future budget processes.
